Unifi or Service Exchange: which fits your integrations?
Both connect your ServiceNow instance to other companies. Service Exchange works between ServiceNow instances. Unifi connects to any system with an API.

ServiceNow only, or any system you work with.
ServiceNow Service Exchange (formerly Service Bridge) connects ServiceNow instances in a provider and consumer model: the provider publishes catalog items and tasks, and each side works in its own instance. Unifi is for bespoke eBonding: integrations built around your processes.
When each side keeps control
With Unifi, each side runs its own workflows and shares only the data it chooses. If the other side runs ServiceNow, they can run Unifi too.
When you sell services to your customers
Unifi lets you offer them a connected service without buying a Service Management product line.
When you run many integrations
With templates in Unifi, each new integration starts 80 to 90% done.
When it’s already in your licence
Service Exchange is included with several ServiceNow product lines, so there’s nothing more to buy for a provider and consumer link between instances. For anything beyond that, Unifi runs alongside it.
A fair warning: we make Unifi. We checked every point about Service Exchange against ServiceNow’s documentation in October 2026; check it there too.

Three questions that decide it.
Most teams weigh three things: where it runs, who’s on the other side, and how closely it needs to fit each process.
Where it runs
Unifi runs natively on your instance, with no middleware.
Service Exchange: installed on both instances, one as the provider and one as the consumer.
Who’s on the other side
Unifi bonds with ServiceNow, Jira, Freshservice and others through their API.
Service Exchange: other ServiceNow instances, from customers to suppliers and system integrators.
How it fits your process
Unifi follows your process, and you tailor each integration to the other side.
Service Exchange: a shared model the provider sets and deploys to its consumers.

Rated by the teams who run it.
Unifi has been live in production since 2016, and is rated 5 out of 5 on the ServiceNow Store from 17 reviews.
“The tooling itself is very well laid out and logically arranged, is great for manipulating data between instances, and has proven to be very efficient for building or updating integrations.”
